Collaborative Modeling with Tangible Landscape at Bald Head Island Conservancy
Harmon, B., Petrasova, A., Petras, V., Mitasova H.
We developed collaborative modeling environment for the Bald Head Island Conservancy that allows the visitors, students, researchers and staff to interact with geospatial data and models of the island's dynamic landscape and explore potential impacts of storms surge, sea level rise and future land development or beachdune systems management through a serious game with Tangible Landscape.
The installation includes coastal flooding game and visualization of coastline timeseries. Check G+ photos of the setups and models.
Tangible Landscape at the State of the Sciences: Museum Takeover
Harmon, B., Petrasova, A., Petras, V., Mitasova H.
Celebrating the work of NC State scientists with laboratory tours, image-rich theater presentations and hands-on demos at the College’s annual State of the Sciences event. The 2016 edition is a family-friendly takeover of the Nature Research Center at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences. We demonstrated how Tangible Landscape physically, interactively manifests geospatial data so that you can naturally feel it, see it, and shape it.
Coffee & Viz - Serious Gaming with Tangible Landscape
Harmon, B., Petrasova, A., Petras, V., Mitasova H., Vukomanovic, J., Tonini F., Meentemeyer, R.
An interactive seminar exploring how serious, analytical games can be deployed to simulate real world problems, like tracking emerging infectious diseases and modeling coal ash spills, to help develop innovative solutions. Hands-on games and demos, plus lightning talks. Photos from this event on G+.
